Obligations of Legal Entities
The laws that govern the area of waste management stipulate that all legal persons that generate packaging waste must sort it, i.e. they must collect it separately from municipal waste, put such sorted waste in special bags or containers, and hand it over to the person authorized to collect this type of waste. Kappa Star recycling has permits for the collection, storage and treatment of non-hazardous packaging waste and collects it from legal persons pursuant to the Law on Waste Management (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No 36/2009, 88/2010, 14/2016 and 95/2018) and the Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste (Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia No 36/2009 and 95/2018).
For the disposal of packaging waste, it is necessary to hire a registered operator, i.e. packaging waste collection company, which shall issue a Waste Movement Document. Legal persons that generate packaging waste are obliged to submit a Waste Movement Document to the competent inspector who, in exercising their powers, controls implementation of the law. Each Waste Movement Document is completed in 4 copies. A separate Waste Movement Document is filled out for each type of packaging waste, as each type of waste has its own properties.
Obligations of legal persons that generate packaging waste:
- It is forbidden to mix municipal waste with packaging waste.
- Legal persons that generate packaging waste conclude an Agreement on the collection of packaging waste with a licensed operator.
- Legal persons are required to hire registered.
- A licensed waste collection company issues a Waste Movement Document, as evidence that packaging waste has been disposed of in a controlled manner. Thereafter, legal persons shall submit it to the competent inspector.
Under the Law, legal persons that do not have a Waste Movement Document are subject to a fine.
